The Royal Wedding is right around the corner on Saturday, May 19th! This day celebrates the union between Prince Harry and the American actress, Meghan Markle.
I have become a huge fan of the couple after watching the interview on how they met and how Harry proposed (adorable story if you want to go check it out)
A couple of summers ago, I was in the U.K. on a backpacking trip and my favorite part was that at every hostel we stayed in, the British would literally serve us baked beans on toast for breakfast (surprisingly good). For whatever reason, I find it so adorable that British people love baked beans so much. The other thing I love is the fact that they have adult TEA PARTIES!
During my childhood, I was a little obsessed with tea parties. My 6th, 7th, and 8th birthday parties were all tea party themed. By the time I was 9 I began to feel the judgment so I switched it up.
But any party is fun right? Which is why you should have a Royal Wedding viewing party with your closest pals! This is an exciting time leading up to the one of the most viewed weddings world wide, so I have come up with a list of ideas to have at your own viewing party:
#1) Buy a three tiered tea tray. These tea trays are the focal point for a perfect tea party. You can make some tiny finger sandwiches like cucumber cream cheese, pimento and cheese, and even some mini muffins and scones. Mini food is always more fun to eat.
#2) Record the wedding… unless you want to be awake at 7am eastern time. The wedding will be held at Noon in England.
#3) Brew some english breakfast tea. After all, it will be in the morning and everyone needs a nice cup o’ tea to enjoy the event.
#4) Have your friends bring something of their choosing, such as… Lemon Elderflower cup cakes! This is the same type of cake Meghan and Harry will be serving their royal guests.
#5) To feel like you are a guest at the Kensington Palace, tell your friends everyone has to talk in a British accent and the first person who forgets has to heat up some baked beans and toast!
Just have fun… and remember that you are also a princess in your own way 🙂
